Time-zone overlap: Mexico City and North America.
Mexico City stays on UTC−6 all year. The U.S. and Canada change clocks, so the gap moves by one hour twice a year.
| Your zone | Offset vs. Mexico City, standard time (Nov–Mar) | Offset, daylight time (Mar–Nov) | Overlap, standard time | Overlap, daylight time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eastern New York, Toronto | +1 h | +2 h | 8 h | 7 h |
| Central Chicago, Dallas, Winnipeg | 0 h | +1 h | 9 h | 8 h |
| Mountain Denver, Calgary | −1 h | 0 h | 8 h | 9 h |
| Arizona (no daylight saving) Phoenix | −1 h | −1 h | 8 h | 8 h |
| Pacific Los Angeles, Vancouver | −2 h | −1 h | 7 h | 8 h |
A positive offset means your clock is ahead of Mexico City. Overlap assumes a 9:00–18:00 workday on both sides. U.S. and most Canadian zones switch to daylight time on the second Sunday in March and back on the first Sunday in November; Mexico does not observe daylight saving time.
In practice
How teams use the overlap.
- Stand-ups, planning and reviews inside the shared window
- Focused work outside it, so handoffs finish while you sleep
- Support coverage agreed per service, with escalation rules
Need a different schedule?
Hours can be adjusted per engagement to extend the overlap with your team. We define it in the proposal.
